Greta is 23.1km south of Wangaratta which takes in Greta South, Hansonville, Greta West and Ryan's Creek. There are approximately 150 households along the rich fertile valley. The land supports dairy, sheep, cattle & horse enterprises. There are several stud properties and small businesses which include, motor trimming, earth moving, B&Bs, boarding kennels, pastoral contractors and saw milling. The Greta / Hansonville Recreation Reserve with its sporting facilities and hall are known as the community hub.
